About Reading Leveler
Welcome to the Reading Leveler. Our primary goal is to help parents and teachers achieve the goal of allowing kids to select books that they enjoy and that are not frustrating. This website is designed to help you quickly calculate an approximate grade level of a piece of text. The “Find Books” section has over 120,000 titles to search from. These titles have already been leveled and contain a Lexile Level along with an equivalent grade level. If your text has not already been leveled the “Level your own Text” function can calculate the approximate grade level. Please keep in mind that this measure only takes into account the quantitative data of the complexity of the text; one must also consider the book’s content/structure and the reader.

What was once the western United States is now home to the Republic, a nation perpetually at war with its neighbors.
